Not a bad quarter, considering the defense the Suns brought four days ago has yet to show up. Someone needs to tell Kurt that he's not Ginobili. He's effective because he stands his ground against Duncan. Stop flopping. (Although he did cause Horry to step out of bounds when the whistle didn't blow on one Thomas flop.)
I told you after game two -- Raja Bell is having a spectacular series. 4-4 three pointers with 10:26 to go in the first half.

I only have one more thing to say for this game, as it's being played.
If it takes undercutting leapers, kicking people's feet from under them when they're in the air, kneeing guys in the nuts, and flopping on every defensive play to win a title, then I don't want one. I want to watch the best team win, not the cheapest.
Get ready for a game 4 Suns blowout. This series is going 7, and it ain't gonna be pretty until the Suns do to the Spurs at USAC in game 7 what they did to both Los Angeles teams last year.

In both the games that the Spurs have won, the referees played a large part in the outcome of the game. Am I biased? Possibly, I am a Suns supporter. However, it was clear in both Games 1 and 3 that the Spurs were given a large foul call differential. Plus, a great deal of effort was made to put the whistle down whenever Duncan got close to being in foul trouble.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but if the NBA wanted to orchestrate a 7 game series to maximize drama/revenues, this would be the way to do it.
I have one question though if someone could reply with some level of seriousness, why do the Suns not attempt to rebound in the offensive zone? I realize that it is a conscious effort, designed by D'Antoni, but considering that 15 or 20 rebounds are lost to the opposing team each game, even if the Suns only got 5 or 10 offensive rebounds, it could take a little bit of pressure off. What's the rationale and how was this proven to be most effective?
I can not stand the way san antonio crybabies play.The refs should did baby them the whole except for the end of the game.Ok should the refs are going to try to even it up at the end.The fact of it is that the refs did not call it when it was in plain sight.Did you not see the ball dribbling and bowen on the other side of him,hacking at his arm.Nowhere near the ball,I'm not too sure what is going on in yesterday's game.I really could care for the end of the game and the refs wanted to call fouls,give me a fucking break,pure bullshit altogether;I don't want any sympathy calls at the end of the game if the refs are not going to make consistent calls throughout the game.One word for this game pathetic display of bad officiating and tried to cover it up at the end of the game.I feel like we got ray charles as one of the refs.That is how bad the non-calls where in that game.For ginobili having to complain at the end of the game even though the spurs where going to win it.One word pathetic.I can't stand whiners every freakin where I look I see the faces of fuckin piece of shit ginobili,Duncan,and parker trying to get some type of call or make up call for the last no call.I hate the way the playoffs are,just full of cheap shots and dirty plays all the way to the championship.
I'm sorry I can go on forever about this game on how horrible it was and how the NBA needs to clean up the bad officiating.There has to be sometype of official off to the side lines making sure that the plays are being called right and the no calls are being called correctly.There is this one guy's blog article that I have read and he said that keep two officials on the court calling the game and one on a tv monitor watching the game from a different perspective and can challenge calls on the court.
That was a brilliant idea except for the duration of the game,it would take hours for the game to be finished but it would definitly clean the game up a lot;especially Bowen's dirty ass!!

I have been mulling over the whole ref/conspiracy theory thing for the last 24 hours and I have an interesting thought, maybe you should write something on it I have a feeling you may agree but you put thoughts to words better than myself.
So The NBA has been known to be in a quandry in regards to TV ratings, despite the ticket sales increasing the fact is the TV ratings have decreased over the years.
Last year the NBA playoffs as a whole were quite possibly the best EVER, this year they have certainly been good but not quite what they were last year, Nationally the Suns are a Ratings powerhouse, bringing johnny come lately viewers along that wouldnt normally watch a full game. The spurs on the other hand as we all know are painful to watch. Outside of there own fan's there are not a lot of people that purposly tune into to a Spurs game. The Mav's are gone and the Warriors are the Darlings of the playoffs this year much like the injury riddled Suns were last year. What point am I getting at???
DAVID STERN... The dude has more power as commish than any of the other major pro sports and he is clearing showing it... It's been very obvious that the officiating can have dire effects on the outcome of the game, evidenced multiple times throughout the playoffs already. What do a few Major Blown calls add up too?? RATINGS!!! what does a 7 game Series between the Suns/Spurs add up too??? RATINGS!! Think about all that has been said and done already thru 3 games... Nosegate, BowenGate, Ginosebleed, the Knee to the crotch, etc etc etc... We could go on for days... I may be stretching a bit, however, many analysts already believed this is the NBA championship/WCF... A 7 game series with what has already happened would be HUGE for the NBA...
All that being said this series WILL go 7 Games and David Stern WILL decide who go on if the game is close...
Hmm... I agree that the refs have a bearing on the outcome of games, perhaps more so than even the NHL - where a power play generally results in a goal 10-15% of the time and in the playoffs, even less so. In the NBA, foul calls (or the lack thereof) will result in direct points on the scoresheet, not to mention the momentum swing and distraction to the team that considers itself wronged.
Let's assume for a moment that there is an internal directive by the NBA head office to the officials to 'promote' the likelihood of a Game 7 - for the sake of argument. I would guess that Game 4 goes something like this... Bowen is suspended for one game (a la Raja Bell vs. the Lakers in 2006), severely affecting the defensive rotation for the Spurs. As a result of the increased space on the floor, the Suns drive harder to the lane and cause Duncan to switch up more frequently to close the lane - resulting in more calls against him. Not bad calls, simply calls that were not made in the previous game - and enough to put him to 5 fouls in the 3rd quarter.
Unless Parker, Ginobili and Finley can channel the LA Lakers from the 70's, this game will be over with 4 minutes showing on the clock and both Nash and Stoudemire will be once again sitting on the bench to rest up for Game 5...

But I've made it a personal policy not to talk too much about conspiracy theories in any form, so it's really hard for me to sit down and write something about all that.
The problem is probably more simple, though. We have 20-30 year veterans refereeing games, which puts a lot of their experience in the late 80s until the rules changes in 2003. The refs refuse to adjust.
The newer guys coming in over the last five years or so just don't know how to officiate a game, yet, and they're learning from these older guys who still think that a trip is a good clean play in the lane.
One of these days, though, we might gain evidence to support a more all-encompassing "guidance" of game tracks.
